Speaking at Transformational Gifts, From Wishing and Hoping to Receiving and Growing and Annual Meeting and Closing Luncheon
Jennifer Teisinger joined the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra as executive director in 2019. Under her leadership, the SDSO has seen unprecedented national recognition, a 30% increase in contributed revenue, and the single largest donations in its history. She served as executive producer of the SDSO’s first-ever professional recordings, Lakota Music Project (2022), Atlas of Deep Time by John Luther Adams (2024), and Giants in the Earth (2026), and established the SDSO’s live-stream programming in partnership with South Dakota Public Broadcasting.
Teisinger served in the same role at the Bravo! Vail Music Festival and at the Sun Valley Music Festival (Idaho), where she established the organization’s endowment and steered the festival’s Sun Valley Pavilion building campaign. Prior to her time in Sun Valley, she served as executive director of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (Washington). Teisinger began her career managing education and the youth orchestra programs at the San Jose Symphony and managing the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra.
